Default Does anyone know a weight loss strategy???

Hi, I am 23 years old and have been gaining on pounds and this is getting to me. The thing is that after several efforts of exercise and dieting, I don’t seem to get any slimmer! There are many ways to lose weight, but I have exhausted all the ways I know. I have consulted a few people but all of them have been telling me the same thing. It isn’t helping me and only making my fears worse.

Is there some way to make me feel better!!!

Arrow Insulin

Hello Nancy!

A little information for you, insulin has an effect on your weight as well as carbohydrates and calories so reducing your insulin dosage could help you a lot here.

There are 2 ways you can actually reduce your insulin requirements, the first and most obvious one is to reduce your carbohydrate intake but the second option would not involve adjusting your diet.

If you exercise you actually make your body more sensitive to each unit of insulin meaning you can take less but it would cover more carbohydrate, this is called insulin resistance and everyone has it but everyone has it to different degree's due to such variations in lifestyle.

I hope this helps you out a little and please let us know how you get on!

Thumbs up Just My Way!

I have lost 73# since June, 2005. Kept it off. I walk 2 to 3 times a day. Goal 60 minutes. Goal 8500 Steps. Having had 2 new Hips, Knees, and Spine Sugery I walk slow pace, but walk.
I became a Vegetarian 3 years ago Jan. 1st.
I count every carb, everyone of them! I lose 1 to 2# every week.
I am trying for 40 more pounds.
I am on the Pump. Before for 3 years on shots.
and 35 years on Meds.

There are many types of strategies. Try Google for some ideas because there are tons, just watch for the dodgy ones.

Increasing your physical activity is an important part of losing weight. Moreover, it will be a lot harder to maintain your weight loss without increasing your exercise. By exercising, you can lower your risk for high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes beyond that produced by weight loss alone. If you are at risk for heart disease, have a chronic illness such as high blood pressure, diabetes or you are obese, you should check with your doctor before adopting an exercise plan.

I've been exactly in your situation. Try to be strong..
My solution was working out with cardio at home, because that is really comfortable for me, simple, no need for expensive equipment, 5 m to the shower, etc..

Well first of all read the stickies. they are filled with alot of great info to aid you in your quest. also if your diet and exercise routine are not spot on you will not get any were. after that if you are still having problems go to the doctor, and have some blood work done to see if there is some thing wrong.
