So after my endless months of really trying to take care of myself due to the news about my eyes showing the starting signs of diabetes damage which thank God is reversable, I have found it **** easy to keep my BS under 10 most of the time depending on if I feel like pigging out or not.
Anyway, I am on 2 shots a day of Humalog Mix25 and I take 50 Units in the morning and 48 units in the evening.
My life style before I share my diet is office work which means I sit down alot but anyway here is my average day.
MORNING: I wake up anytime between 7am and 10:30am usually and check BS which is usually anything between 4 and 8, I have around 50 - 90 carbs, I know that is a big variation but that works fine as you will see.
MID-MORNING: I will have a cup of tea or maybe two with one sugar in each but I will only have one tea if I had alot for breakfast.
LUNCH: I have a new addiction to noodles which I cook, depending on which noodles I have these will mount to between 20 and 30 carbs and a packet of crisps (potato chips) plus maybe another cup of tea with one sugar.
MID-AFTERNOON: I will maybe have some fruit or something fairly healthy, something between 15 and 25 carbs but it depends on my lunch really.
DINNER: Dinner really is whatever I feel like, most meals I like seem to come to around 90 to 120 carbs and maybe a desert if I want.
MID-EVENING: Tea and biscuits seems to be what I go for at the moment, 2 rich tea biscuits with teas is nice.
BEFORE BED: I find that before bed is always different, I go by whatever my BS is to weather I want to have anything more and if I wannt keep below 10 then I have to really think, often I find that my BS is very similar when I wake up as it was when I went to bed.
I hope this is useful to someone, please note that I do have some lows and sometimes I do see a high, the point here is to show how easy it is to keep below 10 all the time if I wanted.
I sometimes lift weights and do abit of walking, I am actually having a low right now lol [2.8] so I need to go have a browse through the snack draw.
If I can help anyone finding it hard to get control I would love to speak to you.
One other point I want to point out is that I do all of this on 2 shots a day, I was told last month that my eyes are almost fully cleard up due to my control so it has to be good what I have done.
Anyway I really need to go now before I headbutt my keyboard because of this low.
